( Cut for the pics )
So I know that this is overdue (damn firefox why won't you open photobucket and youtube), but I figured I'd do a recap on our fieldwork 2 week ago:
( THIS. IS. LJ CUT (duh) )
From Langkawi.
And man, am I tired.
Update (perhaps much much) later
So yes.
First fieldwork of this semester break is done.
Next stop: Langkawi!!
(pics to be added later)
Except not really.
Finished exam yesterday... I'm optimistic on the results, but there's 2 or 3 course that I'm not so sure
Two of the exam are open book, and from the experience, I can only say:
Open book exam are meant to make your life a lot HARDER, not easier.
And I hope I don't have to see the lecturer again (both paper are from the same lecturer)... I hope I didn't flunk the test... hurrr
Well, so much for exam. Next week we'll be leaving for Pahang for our fieldwork... and immediately after, I'll be going to Langkawi with my friends... we're doing a sort-of geological field trip... expect to see some updates on them later!
That's one of the reason I LOVE geology =D
In the meantime, I'm watching Azumanga Daioh episodes, which I haven't finish watching since... last year (wow so long)
Yeap, two people on my f-list are becoming old geezer getting one year older: happy birthday
anym and
starstray ! (And since both are Malaysian: selamat hari jadi!)
And I also found out that some of my online friends are turning 21 years old (you're turning 21, right Yi Wen? I forgot lah) this week... coincidence, eh?
So
er
help yourself to this quick drawing that I did (lol, so random)

Disclaimer: I don't watch (or read) hentai.
However, this tickle me for some reason.
...and you're thinking, 'where'd he found that?' Ahaha...
Plato once said that 'sometimes the question is more important than the answer' =3
In another news, class is starting tomorrow (at 9), and I'm still procrastinating from studying =/
(No offense taken, am I right, my English speaking friends?
)
So, while I was looking for information on my hometown (we're to do an assignment about our hometown and the natural environment found there), I found out that Alor Star has been changed (back) to Alor Setar.
At 15th January this year.
...well, to put things short, my hometown was then Alor Setar (Alor is a malay word for channel, and setar is the name of a tree), although some British people write it as Alor Star (probably cause pronouncing 'Setar' doesn't flow with their tongue, eh?). That is, until someone decided to change it to Alor Star around... 2004, I think.
EDIT: Copy pasted from wikipedia:
Alor Setar had been officially granted as a city – the ninth in Malaysia, on 21 December2003, during which the spelling of its name was officially changed to Alor Star from the prior Alor Setar. The proclamation ceremony to declare the Kedah capital a city was held at Dataran Tunku, Alor Setar. Among those present at the historic ceremony were the Kedah's Sultan Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah and his consort Che' Puan Haminah Hamidun, the Raja Muda of Kedah and Raja Puan Muda (Heir Apparent of Kedah State and his consort), members of the Kedah royalty, parliament members and state exco members. The ceremony was also witnessed by civilians and tourists. The name was returned back to Alor Setar on January 15, 2009.[1]
But besides that oddity, I also thought of some other name change:
Melaka --> Malacca
Pulau Pinang --> Penang
Singapura --> Singapore
(Although the names on the right are strictly used in English literature, whereas the places still retain its name)
And to a global scale:
Makkah --> Mecca
Maghribi --> Morocco
Hey English man, why must you change the names to fit your language, you, you
YOU
...
BUT I'M J/K, ahaha lol
Also
( Hari raya, 3rd world style (wut) )
Nak duit raya... hahaha.
So, I'm back at my home in Alor Setar right now... and, uh, tomorrow's Eid-ul-Fitri.
And that's all.
Selamat Hari Raya everyone
